Meditation is probably one of the easiest and healthiest things you can do for yourself to reach that point. Studies show that there are multiple health benefits from meditating. Since 1930, there have been studies showing the good that comes from meditating like the decrease in heart rate, oxygen consumption, and blood pressure. For those people who have bad anxiety, you become less anxious, and you get a decrease in the stress hormone. Meditation also helps with things like self-confidence. People who meditate become more independent. Creatives become MORE creative and your productivity increases. Basically, all the negative habits and body functions like cigarette and alcohol abuse decrease, and the good stuff like healthy habits of eating and exercising increases. Those are just a few benefits from a lengthy list.
Are you convinced on meditating yet?
10 minutes? If you said no, then that’s fine. You can start with 2-5 minutes
of meditation and work your way up. Meditation depends solely on you.
I meditate because it makes me feel better. It gives me a break from reality and when I come back I feel less overwhelmed. As millennials, we do a lot and most of those things happen over technology. Technology drains me sometimes and I need a break. Everything happens so fast and loads of information seems like it is always being thrown at me. Not to mention the stress from work, not being a millionaire, and white supremacists/ terrorists being complete idiots.
These are things I do during
my meditation that work for me:
I’ve gotten to the point where I can meditate anywhere.
So, if noise does not throw you off your focus, then that’s cool.
Clear your mind. It sounds so easy, but it can be difficult.
All negative thoughts must be pushed to the side.
I always see me in all white laying under the sun in a field of sunflowers.
